Unable to print from AbiWord 0.7.8 built in a glibc-2.1 environment using gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release) AbiWord generates PS 3.0 output which is not rendered on a PS 2.0 printer (test printer is a HP LaserJet 4M Plus with duplexer, PS 2.0 ROM, and 24Mb RAM installed). Opening the file with gs produces the following error messages: babylon5:alaric:~:12 $ gs Sample1.ps GNU Ghostscript 5.10 (1998-12-17) Copyright (C) 1997 Aladdin Enterprises, Menlo Park, CA. The font with which this problem was discovered is Crillee, from the Gimp freefonts collection. The font renders perfectly onscreen both in AbiWord and in Gimp, and prints correctly from other applications including ApplixWare and StarOffice; only AbiWord is unable to print it. Further testing indicates that AbiWord is similarly unable to print the other fonts from the Gimp freefonts and sharefonts packages, and in fact does not appear to be able to print any PostScript font not included with AbiWord itself.
Hopefully someone will get around to look at the PS font issues.
I believe I fixed this. Martin
