This bug is reproducable every time on my machine. I open a text file. Select the whole document and change the font to courier new 10 point. Then I insert page numbers. Then I attempt to print to a networked Laserjet 5si/mx. The Application Error message appears reporting that the instruction at 0x00447870 referenced memory at 0x000000000. Note: The document will print fine before any formatting is done. Thanks, Kevin

Created an attachment (id=61) [edit] readout of AbiWord error message box
bug reproduced on my system (pentium 75 with Win 95c) (there's a bug in bugzilla too it seems as this is the second time I've attempted to type these comments - the first lot disappeared when I attached a file of the error message box to this bug, and all my comments typing disappeared - Ah well!) I can reproduce this bug any time. However, the crash seems to be triggered not by changing the fonts, but by inserting page numbers. Any time I open a text file, insert page numbers (accepting the default settings in the "insert - page numbers" dialogue box), and attempt to print, the "illegal operation" message appears, and AbiWord must be closed. Tried to print to both local printer and network printer with same results. Text file of error message readout has been appended to this report. Changing status to Open.
Have done further testing of this bug (AbiWord Windows version, Win 95c o/s). Bug behaviour seems to be triggered when attempting to print if page numbers have been inserted AFTER some text has been typed into a document (eg open a new document, type just one character, insert page numbers and attempt to print). "Illegal operation" message is displayed and AbiWord must be shut down. If page numbers are inserted BEFORE any text is typed into new document, this bug behaviour is not observed. Additional Observation: Whatever causes the bug does not seem to be part of the actual document. If you insert page numbers, then SAVE the document before attempting to print, then re-open the saved document after AbiWord has crashed, the re-opened document can be sent to the printer OK without Abiword exhibiting the crash behaviour. Workaround - always save your work before trying to print it!! :]
Verified bug as described by a.selby on version 7.14 Win98. Verified bug is FIXED in CVS(again on Win98 with 7-9-01 CVS).
Works with 0.9.3 prerelease on Windows NT, too. Closing.
