While importing a word document, I get more than 2500 assertions (I stopped at
2551)

AFAICT, This is a bug in our layout engine and not the word importer.

Interestingly, this one crashes xfs when I try to load it!

Verified no asserts on Debian Potato (i386) Abiword version 0.9.4.
